In the fields of medical treatment, bioengineering, beauty and so on, the liquid nitrogen tank has become an indispensable product in the laboratory, but many practitioners in these industries only stay on the surface of the liquid nitrogen tank. In fact, if we can clearly understand the production process and special requirements of liquid nitrogen tank, it will be of great benefit to our better use.
The cryogenic storage tank was originally designed to maintain a liquid nitrogen temperature of -165 ° C. The cryogenic storage tank is insulated, usually with a vacuum jacket, designed and manufactured to high specifications in accordance with international design specifications. They can be fixed, mobile or transportable. The design temperature range is -165 to -196 °C because the temperature that may occur when condensing with nitrogen must be considered during design. Due to the particularity of LNG, the difficulty and special requirements in the design are determined.
1. Low temperature resistance: Because it is designed to liquefy natural gas and store it at normal pressure or slightly higher than normal pressure, it can greatly reduce the thickness of the tank wall and improve the safety performance. Must be resistant to low temperatures.
2. High safety requirements: Due to the low temperature liquid stored in the tank and the large storage capacity (mostly the large storage tank of 160,000 cubic meters at present), once the tank is accidentally, a large amount of volatile liquid will form in the atmosphere. Air mass that will automatically detonate. Therefore, API, EN14620 and other specifications require double-wall structure for storage tanks, and use the sealing concept to ensure storage safety.
3. Special material: The inner tank wall is required to withstand low temperature. 9Ni steel is generally used, and the outer tank wall is prestressed reinforced concrete. The general design tensile strength is ≥20kPa.
4. Strict insulation measures: Since the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the tank can reach up to 200 °C, the tank should have good cold-keeping performance and high performance between the inner tank and the outer tank. Cold insulation material. The bottom of the tank must also have sufficient pressure bearing capacity.
5. Good seismic performance: In order to ensure safety, the requirements of LNG storage tanks will not fall under the specified seismic load. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a suitable place to avoid the seismic belt, and the tank must be subjected to seismic test before construction.
6. Strict construction requirements: 100% magnetic particle testing (MT) and 100% vacuum airtight testing (VBT) must be performed on the tank. To strictly select the cold insulation material, the specified procedures should be followed during construction and the verticality of the storage tank should be guaranteed.
